The Story

A family business.
No mucking about.

Rod's Cleaning Service has been going strong since 1996 - nearly three decades of getting carpets, tiles, and upholstery sorted across South-East Melbourne. It's a proper family operation: Rod's the bloke with the van who turns up and does the hard yakka, and Leonie keeps the whole show running behind the scenes - bookings, quotes, scheduling, making sure everything ticks along like clockwork.

When you call for a quote, chances are it's Leonie you'll chat to first. She knows the business inside out, she'll ask the right questions, and she'll give you a straight answer on pricing. No runaround, no "let me get back to you in three business days" nonsense.

Rod's been at this long enough that there's not much he hasn't seen. Red wine on white carpet? Been there. Flooded lounge room at 2am? Done that. Twenty-year-old grout that hasn't been touched since the house was built? Yeah, that too. He rocks up with two truck-mounted steam cleaning units and a portable rig for apartments, and he gets it done properly.

It's not flashy. It's not a franchise with a call centre in another state. It's a couple from Berwick who've built a reputation by turning up, doing a ripper job, and not taking the mickey with pricing. That's pretty much the whole story.

Things People Reckon About Carpet Cleaning

Yeah, nah

"I'll just grab a machine from Bunnings"

Rental machines don't have the grunt to extract properly. You end up with soggy carpet that takes days to dry - and often smells worse after. Professional gear extracts 95% of the moisture. There's a reason it costs more than fifty bucks for a weekend.

Yeah, nah

"Cleaning wrecks your carpet"

Other way around, mate. Manufacturers actually recommend annual professional cleaning. What wrecks carpet is leaving abrasive grit ground in for years - that's what chews through the fibres.

Yeah, nah

"It doesn't look dirty, she'll be right"

Most of what's lurking in your carpet is invisible - dust mites, allergens, bacteria. If you've got hayfever that mysteriously gets worse at home, your carpet might be the culprit.

Yeah, nah

"All carpet cleaners are the same"

Would you say all sparkies are the same? Training, equipment, and technique vary massively. Cheap and fast usually means too much moisture left behind and bugger-all soil actually extracted.

Putting it off
won't make it cleaner.

The longer you wait, the deeper the dirt goes. Whether it's carpets that haven't been touched in years or a stain you've been pretending isn't there - we've seen worse. We'll sort it.
